Auction Napa Valley 2019 — Cultured Vine

If you want to see the Napa Valley at its most glamorous — and most generous — then plan to come the first weekend in June to participate in the 39th -annual Auction Napa Valley (ANV), one of the top two charity wine events in the country. Hosted by the Napa Valley Vintners (celebrating their 75th anniversary this year), the four-day extravaganza is a traveling party among private estates, art-filled wineries, and al fresco vineyard tables throughout the valley. Between the premier winemaking, the five-star feasting, and the pure party atmosphere, this auction has become the most acclaimed must-attend wine event every year. Last year’s auction, which featured race-car star and winemaker Danica Patrick, raised $13.6 million for local charities that fund community health programs and local childhood education. In its nearly four-decade history, the event has raised more than $185 million for such programs. So all the partying is for an extremely worthy cause.

This year, ANV will feature “California Gurl” Katy Perry, who will boost the bidding with some favorite hits. And post-auction, open-fire dining will be prepared by Food Network star and restaurateur Ayesha Curry (who has partnered with local celebrity chef Michael Mina on her International Smoke barbecue place) with other Mina chefs. No word on whether her husband, Steph Curry — the well-loved point guard for our local NBA team, the Golden State Warriors — will be there. But we wouldn’t bet against it!

This year, the barrel auction will be held at Louis M. Martini Winery, with vintner dinners at Colgin Cellars, Continuum Estate, Dalle Valle Vineyards, Diamond Creek Winery, and more.

Scheduled for the weekend of May 30 to June 2, 2019, ANV events and packages include the Saturday After Party, Friday Barrel Auction, Live Auction Celebration, a Weekend of Bidding, the Complete Auction Napa Valley Experience, and the VIP Auction Napa Valley Experience.
